Adorna Carroll 

Adorna Carroll is the Vice-President and Owner/Broker of Realty3 CT, a large multi-office firm in Connecticut.  In addition to troubleshooting agent field issues, Adorna is responsible for the firm’s policies/procedures, technology infrastructure and strategic initiatives.  Her team continues to represent and refer buyer and seller clients.

Adorna is the President of Dynamic Directions, Inc. an educational and sales training consulting firm.  In addition to being an international speaker and sales trainer in the area of Association Leadership Training, Strategic & Business Planning, Agency Relationships and Buyer Representation, Adorna has been named to the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC’s) Hall of Fame and is a founding partner and co-author of the SRS – Seller Representative Specialist designation course, owned by the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers – CRB and now in NAR’s family of designations.

In 1997 she completed her term as the State President for the CT Association of REALTORS®,, was the 2001 Region 1 Vice President, an NAR Liaison in 2002, 2003, and 2007, RPAC Trustee in 2004, the 2005 NAR VP & Liaison to Committees, NAR’s Chief Political Fundraiser in 2006, a member of the RPAC Hall of Fame, is on the Leadership Team of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers and is the 79th recipient of NAR’s Distinguished Service Award.

Adorna has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and has been awarded five Who’s Who awards beginning with “Who’s Who of American Women,” “Finance and Industry,” “Emerging Leaders,” “Who’s Who in the East,” and “Who’s Who in America.”


Toni Cockeram

Toni Cockeram is the CEO the Golden Isles Association of REALTORS® and Multiple Listing Service. Coming from a corporate background, she saw the want ad for the position of Association Executive and knew it was describing her dream job! She accepted the position and began working for the Association on November 19, 2000. 

Toni holds the REALTOR® Certified Executive (RCE) designation from the National Association of REALTORS®, the Certificate in Strategies for Nonprofit Management from the University of Chicago and the ePro Certification which is based on the importance of social media, online marketing, and technology in the real estate business.  

Toni has served 3 different terms as the Georgia REALTORS® Chairman for the Multiple Listing Service Forum, has been a contributing member of GAR Convention Committee, is currently a member of the State & Local Government Affairs Committee and has served on the Professional Standards PAG, the 50th Anniversary of Fair Housing Committee and is currently on the 100th Anniversary Task Force.

She served two terms as the NAR State Representative for the MLS Membership and Policies Committee and has served on the NAR RCE Certification Advisory Board several times.

Community involvement: she has served on the Red Cross Building Committee and Red Cross Board, was a member of the YWCA Tribute to Woman Leaders and chaired the event in 2011, also served on the Brunswick Golden Isles Board of Directors for the Chamber and is on the finance committee for United Way of Coastal Georgia.

Married to her childhood sweetheart, Allen Cockeram for 47 years, they have three children and eight grandchildren.




Susie Helm

Vice President, State & Local Services & Advocacy Operations, Advocacy Group, National Association of REALTORS®

Susie Helm has been with the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® since January 2013.  She is unique in that she has worked for REALTORS® at the local, state and national level of the REALTOR® organization.  She started in 1984 at the Indiana Association of REALTORS® as a Government Affairs Director and in 1986 became the Executive Vice President of the Fort Wayne Area Association of REALTORS®.  In 2000, she became the EVP of the New Castle County Board of REALTORS® in Wilmington, Delaware and in 2005 became the EVP at the Kentucky Association of REALTORS®

Prior to working for REALTORS, Susie worked on campaigns, in the state legislature and honed her skills at a weekly newspaper and the Saturday Evening Post.  She has been appointed to numerous community and housing organizations over the years, including 2 Economic Development boards, multiple housing organizations and on the Boys & Girls Club board.  She likes reading, gardening and all sports, especially college basketball where she follows the Indiana University Hoosiers.  Susie lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, Jim, and her Vizsla, Lexi. 


Deb Junkin
  Deb Junkin has served as the CEO for the Georgia REALTORS® since January 2010. Deb celebrated 10 years with GAR in December 2018 with a combined 20 years of REALTOR® association management experience. She holds the Strategies in Non-Profit Management Certificate from the University of Chicago, is a graduate of Duke University’s Non-Profit Management Program, and holds the REALTOR® Certified Executive

(RCE) designation from the National Association of REALTORS®.  Deb is a 2017 inductee to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Dr. Almon ‘Bud” Smith Leadership Society.

In addition to her duties at GAR, Deb currently serves on the NAR 2019 Reserves Investment Advisory Board, the AEC State EO Forum, and the AEC Core Standards Compliance Work Group. She also serves on the University of Georgia Housing and Demographic Research Center Advisory Board and the Georgia Healthy Homes Strategic Planning Advisory Committee. Deb actively supports the advocacy objectives of both the state and national associations as a Platinum ‘R’ RPAC Hall of Fame investor and a 7-year member of the NAR President’s Circle.  Deb is married to Chip Junkin and together they have seven children ranging in age from 27-38, two son-in-laws and two daughter-in-laws, and four fabulously wonderful grandchildren - granddaughter Bailey and grandsons Elliott, Conner, and Patrick –who range in age from 2 to 14.

In addition to spending time with their ever-expanding family, Deb and Chip enjoy entertaining, traveling,reading, and sailing.


Charlie Lee


Charlie Lee joined NAR in 2018.  He has ten (10) years of association law and governance experience.  Prior to joining NAR, Charlie was with the Appraisal Institute since 2008, where he served as Associate Counsel and as the primary legal counsel to 90 chapters, and subsidiaries which included for-profits, charitable and insurance organizations.  Charlie’s focus included trade association, corporate governance, not-for-profit taxation, cybersecurity, contracts, intellectual property, advertisement, employment and antitrust matters.  He also has professional experience in commercial and employment litigation, intellectual property, and serving as an Illinois state’s attorney appellate prosecutor. 

He received his B.S. degree in Business Administration and Management of Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated cum laude from the John Marshall Law School.   Charlie is admitted to the state bar of Illinois and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Supreme Court.  He is a member of the American and Chicago Bar Associations, ASAE, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.  


Seth Palmer

  Seth Palmer is the Director of Regulatory Affairs and External Communications for NC REALTORS®. In this role, he represents NC REALTORS® before state regulatory bodies. Additionally, he manages the association’s advocacy and external communications activities, including Calls for Action and REALTOR® Party communications resources, as well as serves as  the liaison to statewide media outlets. 

Seth began his work with NC REALTORS® in 2014, first as a Shared Local Government Affairs Director and later as the Director of Political Communications before moving into his current role. Prior to joining NC REALTORS®, Seth served in multiple roles in North Carolina government, including on the staffs of the House Majority Leader, Lieutenant Governor, and Secretary of the Department of Transportation.

A native of Wilmington, Seth lives in Raleigh with his wife, Liz and their daughter, Becca.
 Darlene Spivey   Darlene Oakes Spivey is the Association Executive of the Neuse River Region Association of REALTORS, Inc. in New Bern, North Carolina. In her 33 years she has seen many changes in the real estate world. Darlene is also the AE for the Washington Beaufort Board of REALTORS in Washington, North Carolina and has been for a year and a half. 

In 1993, Darlene was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and that started her crusade against cancer and her volunteer work with the American Cancer Society. She was the chairperson for the Craven County Relay For Life for 17 years. In that 17 years over 4.8 million dollars was raised in Craven County to fight cancer. She is a Reach to Recovery Volunteer, which is breast cancer patients helping other breast cancer patients for Craven, Jones and Pamlico Counties. She is the American Cancer Society Volunteer Coordinator and Trainer for 50 counties in North Carolina. Darlene feels very strongly that this is her way to “Make a Difference”!

In her spare time Darlene is the Mayor of Trenton, a town with over 300 residents. Trenton is the County Seat of Jones County. She has just completed her sixth two-year term as Mayor. She tries very hard to make Trenton a place that the residents can be very proud of. Hurricane Florence left 106 homes devasted in her small town, with many residents still being displaced. Her efforts to stay on top of this issue are never ending and are of great concern.  

Darlene is blessed to be married and has one son and two grandkids that are truly amazing. Just ask she will gladly share details. 


Terrie Suit
  Terrie L. Suit was appointed as chief executive officer of the Virginia REALTORS® on September 23, 2013. Terrie’s real estate background began in 1985 as a REALTOR® and later transitioned into a twenty-year mortgage lending career. In 1996, Terrie received a gubernatorial appointment to the Virginia Real Estate Board. Several years later she was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates where she served the 81st District for nearly a decade. During her time as a delegate,Terrie served as chair to the General Laws Committee, the Housing Sub-Committee and the Virginia Housing Commission. As a delegate, Terrie was recognized by legislative peers and constituents as an expert on housing policy to include real estate licensure, common interest communities, landlord tenant issues, real estate finance, foreclosure, and building and fair housing issues.

In April of 2011, Terrie was appointed by Virginia’s Governor to be Virginia’s first Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security. As an Army daughter and a Navy wife, Terrie worked diligently to fulfill the Governor’s goal of making Virginia “the most veteran-friendly state in the nation.”

As Virginia REALTORS®’s chief executive officer, Terrie has also served at the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) level on multiple committees and workgroups.

Terrie is a graduate of both Tidewater Community College and Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Mary Washington and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). She most recently earned the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation in support of the growing global real estate market. Terrie and her husband, Tom, reside in Stafford County.


Caitlin Thompson
  Caitlin Thompson joined NC REALTORS® in 2015 as Compliance Counsel to assist with Core Standards and to serve as the association’s in-house legal counsel. She is a North Carolina licensed attorney and was in private practice for five years prior to joining NC REALTORS®. She received her bachelor’s from George Mason University and her law degree from Elon University.




Stephanie Walker

Stephanie Walker has been in the real estate business for more than 3 decades. That’s a lot of material for use in her energetic and informative classes. Her experiences, both in the field and volunteering at all levels of the REALTOR® association, give her plenty of real life, in the trenches stories to supplement her courses with actual scenarios that bring relevance, substance, and humor to attendees.

Her newest offering, “Risky Business, Doing it Right” was just awarded the coveted 2019 Program of the Year award from the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Foundation. “Doing the right thing is not the problem. Knowing what the right thing is, that’s the challenge”. Attendees remark that sessions with Stephanie are enjoyable, informative, interactive and full of real world examples that are relavent to the issues they face on a daily basis. She has found a way to make Ethics fun!

Stephanie holds the ABR, CDPE, CRS, GRI, RSPS, SFR, and SRES designations and is trained in both REALTOR® and Superior Court Mediation. She is an instructor in Professional Standards Administration, Procedures and Process, Ethics, License Law, the NCREC annual update courses, GRI classes, REALTOR® Mediation, Ombudsman Training, Leadership Training and has become the “Go to” for Professional Standards and Ethics questions.

As the Broker/Owner of Stephanie Walker & Associates on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, she is a past President of both the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS and the North Carolina Association of REALTORS. At the national level, Stephanie currently is the 2019 Law and Policy Liaison. She has served on the NAR Professional Standards Committee, the Interpretations and Procedures Advisory Board, the Resort Real Estate Committee and on NAR Board of Directors since 2010. Stephanie served as the 2012 Chair of the National Association of REALTORS® Professional Standards Committee and the 2013 and 2014 Chair of the NAR Interpretations and Procedures Advisory Board. In 2015, she served as Liaison to the NAR President, serving the Association Executive Committees, Local and State Leadership Forums and serving on the NAR Executive Committee.

At the state level, Stephanie served as President in 2011 and was honored as the 2016 NC REALTORS® REALTOR of the Year. She has chaired the Bylaws and Professional Standards Committees, twice received with the NCAR Presidents award and is a recipient of the NCAR Regional Service Award. She currently serves as Chair for the NC REALTORS® William C. Bass Leadership Academy and is a long serving member of the Professional Standards Committee.


Cynthia Walsh
  Cynthia Walsh is the CEO of the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR). She began her career in Boston, MA working in technology and continuing for the next 11 years in both the banking and insurance industries.  Cynthia has been with the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS in North Carolina since 2005 and earned her REALTOR Association Certified Executive (RCE) designation as well as various other certifications.  She has been actively involved the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) and the North Carolina REALTORS (NCR) serving on committees, mentoring and lending a hand whenever asked.  Cynthia currently resides in Shallotte, NC with her husband John and their two Boxer dogs Duke and Odin.  Her son, Garrett, clearly spent too much time at her office growing up and has decided to pursue a career in real estate.  Cynthia enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends in her spare time.


Lynn Wherry
  Lynne Wherry joined Virginia REALTORS® in January of 2000. Throughout her career at the association, she has worn many hats and titles. Her title now is Association Relation Director working with the 27 Local Associations around the Commonwealth.  She enjoys mentoring new Association Executives, sharing leadership skill with the local associations, facilitating Strategic Plans, and being the support system for the local Association Executives. Lynne and her husband Dave, enjoy traveling, trying out new restaurants,  visiting wineries, and spending time with their two grandchildren.



Beth Ziesenis

Beth Ziesenis: Author. Speaker. Nerd.

Although the only real trophy she ever won was for making perfect French fries at McDonald’s in high school, Beth Z has been featured on Best Speaker lists by Meetings & Conventions magazine and MeetingsNet. And she recently attained her credentials to be a Certified Speaking Professional. It’s kind of a big deal.

Since her first Commodore 64 computer, Beth has made a verb out of the word nerd. She helps computer users all over the country filter through thousands of apps, gadgets, widgets and doodads to find the perfect free and bargain technology tools for business and personal use through presentations and her books, including the latest title, The Big Book of Apps, available on
